About Us
Saint Patrick and Company, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established March 17, 2022.
Our board consists of Diana Philpott, Lisa Kearns, and Joseph Caro.
The purpose of our organization is the revival and furtherance of Catholic classical education through the training of master teachers and the development and distribution of Catholic curricular materials, all for the passing on of the Faith and the salvation of souls. We are dedicated to helping Catholic K - 8 schools and teachers who are seeking rich, Catholic content and guidance on classical teaching.
Along with Lisa Kearns, Diana Philpott is a founder and developer of The Saint Patrick Curriculum. In recent years, she has worked as a consultant to over a dozen schools that have sought to embrace Catholic classical education. Her contributions have included setting the vision, training teachers, guiding heads, and selecting and developing curricula in all subjects, K – 8. She was blessed to receive a classical education at Catholic, French, and independent schools and holds a B.S. in Physics from the University of Notre Dame and a Ph.D. in Earth & Planetary Sciences from Harvard University. After working at the U.S. State Department in the Office of International Religious Freedom, she served as Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Studies for the College of Arts & Letters at the University of Notre Dame. She has taught at the collegiate, middle school, and elementary levels, as well as homeschooled her children.
Lisa Kearns is an experienced school consultant with a passion for the renewal of Catholic classical education. She has worked with K-8 schools in all aspects of shifting to Catholic classical education, including guiding pastors, school boards, and principals, providing training for teachers, running workshops on writing instruction based on classical rhetoric, and aiding in curriculum integration and development. Along with Diana Philpott, she is the co-developer of the Saint Patrick Curriculum for grades K - 8. She was the Curriculum Coordinator at Angelus Academy, VA, for three years, has served as the director of an undergraduate educational program in Washington, D.C., helped establish and run several catechetical programs ranging from Pre-K to Grade 2, and was an upper school curriculum developer for Aquinas Learning. In addition to homeschooling her own children, she has taught grammar, logic, writing, literature, and history at the middle school level, holds Levels I and II certifications in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, and was certified as a teacher by the Virginia Catholic Education Association. Prior to her work in Catholic classical education, she received her B.A. in Government and Public Service with a minor in Economics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and worked as a lobbyist and policy and advocacy writer in Washington, D.C.
Joseph Caro has an abiding interest in re-envisioning Catholic education to encompass both the Catholic intellectual tradition, rooted in Scripture, and the wonder of God’s Creation. He currently teaches theology, math, and science at an independent Catholic high school in Indiana. He received a B.A. in Theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville and a Juris Doctor from Ave Maria School of Law (Michigan). He was the primary educator of his homeschooled children, has taught religious education to primary and middle school children in diocesan schools, and is currently leading classes on Scripture and Patristics for adults. Prior to joining the board of Saint Patrick Company, Inc., he served on two diocesan school boards. At home, he is a beekeeper and a craftsman.
